Learning objectives
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
-          Describe the settings and characters involve in ‘Dear Mr. Kilmer’ by using graphic organizer http://www.storyboardthat.com/articles/e/plot-diagram
-          Sketch a storyboard based on one of selected main events in the novel by using ‘Storyboard That!’ http://www.storyboardthat.com/

Procedure
Set Induction (5 mins)
1.       Start the lesson by asking the students:
a.       What is the importance of using adjectives in a sentence?

To activate their schemata on adjectives

Lesson Development (70 mins)
Mini Lesson (15 mins)
1.       Teacher poses a question such as:
a.       What are the settings & characters involved in the story?
2.       Teacher introduces how to use http://www.storyboardthat.com/ to create one physical settings of the main event selected by the students. E.g Hunting Cabin.
3.       Teacher encourages students to go on https://www.google.com/ to do research on the settings involved in the novel and share their findings through https://todaysmeet.com  E.g Iowa, World War 1, Joyce Kilmer

Group Work Activity 1 / Application & Synthesis (20 mins)
1.       Teacher instructs the students to list down any 5 of important events that they would like to highlight in the novel and illustrate them accordingly by using http://www.storyboardthat.com/ (not more than 9 panels).
2.       Students share the link or pictures in classroom virtual wall https://padlet.com/.

Group Work Activity 2 / Presentation (35 mins)
1.       Each group take turn to present their storyboard in front of the class.
2.       Groups who are not presenting are required to post questions through https://todaysmeet.com
3.       Teacher serves as moderator to conduct classroom discussion based on the questions asked by the audience.
4.       Teacher evaluates students’ ability to describe the settings in three different expects; time, place and social by using the available features of http://www.storyboardthat.com/

Closure (5 mins)
1.       Every student requires to list down 3 news things that they have learnt today and share through https://todaysmeet.com
2.       Teacher recaps the lesson by reading the significant ones.

Follow-up activity

By using the storyboard panels that the students have created, they are required to direct a drama based on the scene selection and upload the videos on https://www.youtube.com/
